The Bosnia and Herzegovina Heritage Association of Spokane (BHHAOS) preserves and shares the living traditions of Bosnians in the Inland Northwest. Founded by Spokane families who arrived in the 1990s, we are a volunteer‑run nonprofit dedicated to language, music, cuisine, and community service.
Our mission is to nurture belonging across generations, build bridges with our neighbors, and ensure that Bosnian heritage continues to enrich the cultural fabric of the Pacific Northwest.

story
Our Story
BHHAOS was founded by Bosnian immigrants who arrived in the 1990s, when the United States admitted more than 100,000 refugees from the former Yugoslavia through federal programs and local sponsors. Spokane provided safety, work, and opportunity—and a place to rebuild.
Our Team
BHHAOS is guided by volunteers from across professions. Officers and board roles are updated periodically.
